Driving tour prices from €0

The Ferrari 308 GTS was first introduced at Frankfurt Motor Show in 1977. The GTS was the targa top version of the Ferrari 308 GTB. It was in production from 1977 to 1980 before it was replaced with the 308 GTSi in 1980, that came with a mechanical fuel injection. The car you can rent is a Ferrari 308 GTSi with Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection, in production from 1980 to 1983, and only 1743 cars were built.

If you have ever watched the television series Magnum, P.I. you have seen this car before. Several Ferrari 308 GTS models were used during the production period, the first being a 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS. Because of this connection the 308 GTB/GTS is now one of the most recognizable cars from Ferrari, and this “rosso corsa” car will not go unnoticed anywhere.

The 2.9L mid-mounted V8 will make sure you never forget you are seated in a true Ferrari. Having the targa top version adds to the experience, because you can constantly enjoy the lovely sounds. The 308 GTB was able to reach 0-100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds and had a top speed of 256 km/h, and GTSi was capable of similar numbers.

Now the car is more than 35 years old already, but still a classic car offering some modern comfort as well. It comes with air-conditioning, power windows, electronic ignition and a decent space for luggage. The weight is only about 1200 kg so the fuel consumption is reasonable. It has a 5-speed manual transmission but is not a difficult car to drive, and more importantly, it is one of those classic cars that also is very well suitable for tours where you might drive up to 250 km per day. Often the average speed is slower when touring in a classic car, but with the Ferrari 308 GTS you can enjoy the fact that you are seated in a modern classic car. An iconic piece of Ferrari history, that still goes strong despite its age.

The car is available for our driving tours with start in France. Note that the overall tour distance will be a little shorter with the classic cars, as the journey in a classic car is different compared to driving a modern supercar. All hotels are the same and the best scenic roads are still included in your itinerary. If you wish to drive the Ferrari 308 GTSi on one of our other driving tours, contact us for a price quote.
