We first worked with Sara when we decided to do our Croatia road trip – I say worked but in reality it was just great fun. The Croatia trip was so easy we didn’t hesitate to ask Sara to do the planning for our next supercar tour – Spain to Monaco. Our brief was a ‘monster drive’ from Barcelona to Monte Carlo to really get the best from our cars – a LaFerrari, a Porsche 918 Spyder, a Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet and a Volkswagen Golf GTI – but this time we wanted plenty of cultural experiences thrown into the mix.
Once we’d decided on the excursions we wanted for the trip we had a brief meeting with Sara – this time over a cup of tea in Monaco – and left the rest to her. Sara designed a brilliant route for us through Spain and over mountain passes in Andorra, crossing back into France on the scenic route, arriving home in time for the Monaco F1 Grand Prix. She booked all of the hotels and restaurants and didn’t bat an eyelid when we kept changing our minds about the schedule! The great thing is, we know that she has reckied these routes in advance – and knowing Sara it’s probably in a yellow Porsche – so we don’t worry about difficult roads or parking problems at lunch stops and hotels. You can’t underestimate how important these aspects are for us with cars like a LaFerrari, and it makes the whole trip so much more relaxing knowing that we’ve got Sara at the end of the phone if there are any issues. It’s obvious Sara has a genuine passion for what she does – for her organising a supercar tour is way more than just a job, and her knowledge of the roads and the requirements for a trouble-free road trip makes the whole thing a real joy. And who else would turn up to oversee the loading of the cars on to the transporter in a 1972 BMW 3.0 CSL Coupe?
Once again we had a fabulous roadbook which will always be a wonderful souvenir of the trip, and before we’d even got home all we could think about was where to go for the next adventure. You can be sure we will be asking Sara to mastermind something seriously cool for the next chapter…
