Audi R8 Spyder V10

Rent an Audi R8 Spyder V10 (Performance / Performance Quattro / RWD / Performance RWD) and experience this comfortable and easy to drive sports car on some of Europe's greatest driving roads. This car packs the performance of a supercar - the 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 can also be found in the Lamborghini Huracán - but in terms of usability and comfort it is more similar to a Porsche 911 (without the rear seats).

Whilst the R8 Spyder might not be the most practical car despite being an Audi - you only get a 112L boot in the front - that is soon forgotten when you look into the performance. Since 2015 the car has been powered by the same V10 engine, but over the years the performance has increased. The 2015-2018 Spyder came with 533 horsepower at 8,250 rpm, and 540 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Fast-forward a few years and the facelift in 2019 brought not only changes to the design (notably a more angular and aggressive styling), but also to the powertrain. Since 2019 you've been treated to 562 horsepower at 8,000-8,200 rpm and 560 Nm of torque at 6,200 rpm - numbers that are increased in the Performance model (612 hp and 580 Nm of torque).

The car is available in all-wheel drive (Quattro) as standard, and since 2020 also in rear-wheel drive (RWD), and the acceleration and top speed figures again show that this car can keep up with most of the modern supercars. The RWD are a bit slower to get off the start line, however in the Quattro model you can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.5 seconds (or 3.2 seconds in the Performance), and reach a top speed of 322 km/h (or 329 km/h in the Performance).

This is great 2-seater alternative to the Porsche 992 Carrera Cabriolet if you're looking for a road trip companion that won't disappoint in the performance department and yet is very easy to drive, giving you an opportunity to reach supercar speeds whilst seated in something that feels more like a 'normal car', that also works brilliantly as a daily driver - and if you prefer a hardtop then we also have the Audi R8 V10 Coupe.
