Ferrari Roma Spider

The Roma Spider is the convertible version of the Ferrari Roma, and is the car replacing the Ferrari Portofino and Portofino M in the lineup, with its practical 2+2 seat layout.

The engine and power output remains unchanged from its hardtop sibling. Powered by a front mid-engine turbocharged 3.9L V8 producing 612 hp and 760 Nm of torque the Roma Spider will also accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and can reach the same 320 km/h top speed as the coupe - and this despite a 84 kg weight gain. On top of the obvious removal of the roof there are some other small changes to the convertible - Ferrari redesigned the rear spoiler, added a wind deflector, and strengthened the chassis and bodywork. The electric folding fabric roof will drop in just 13.5 seconds and can be operated at speeds up to 60 km/h.

You would think by dropping that roof one would lose most of the precious boot space coming to 255L in total, which is slightly less than in the coupe. When stowed the roof occupies a height of just 220mm - which is the lowest in the category according to Ferrari - however you still lose lots of practical space much because of a divider that needs to occupy the boot when the roof is down, and the rear seats will certainly come in handy on longer trips.
