Luxury driving holiday

Verdon & Saint-Tropez

Supercar driving holiday - from the coast to the hinterland

Our Verdon & Saint-Tropez supercar driving holiday is an adventure designed for those of our clients who are searching for extraordinary cuisine, supreme wines, unique hotels, and of course fabulous driving roads behind the wheel of an exclusive supercar. You'll be staying in some of the most exotic hotels on the French Riviera and in the beautiful countryside of Provence, retreats catering for the world's elite pleasure seekers, where only the very best is on offer. Three out of four of the wonderful hotels we've selected have Michelin starred restaurants, and are famous for creating innovative and mouthwatering dishes for the most discerning gourmands.

Choosing a machine for such an incredible supercar driving holiday is the hardest part. There is very little to beat blasting through the hills in a Ferrari F8 Spider, except maybe winding along the littoral in a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster. What can rival the class of an Aston Martin DB11 Volante - except maybe a Bentley Continental GT Convertible - either of which blend perfectly with the jet set of Saint-Tropez or Monte Carlo. We have the very finest selection of supercar and luxury sports machines in our supercar hire fleet.

Your supercar driving holiday begins in the glamorous principality of Monaco, in the legendary Monte Carlo district, where one of the world's very best hotels dominates the famous Casino Square - the iconic Hôtel de Paris. This stunning 19th century palace has recently been renovated to the highest standards, and is home to one of the world's most beautiful restaurants - the prestigious 3 Star Michelin Le Louis XV by Alain Ducasse - and with 'food that tastes like the sun', there is no better place to begin your gourmet driving adventure. The next morning the machine of your dreams will be delivered to the hotel, and as you corner the legendary F1 Fairmont hairpin, following the tyre tracks of the famous Monaco F1 Grand Prix, you'll be ready to start your supercar driving holiday and explore the stunning beauty of the South of France.

A beautiful drive on open country roads will take you up, into the Alpes-Maritimes, for an exciting blast through the mountains - perfect supercar territory - before dropping down towards the coast at Saint-Tropez where you'll check in to Althoff Hotel Villa Belrose, a heavenly spot between sea and sky, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of village life just a 10 minute drive from the heart of Saint-Tropez. The hotel's restaurant might not be Michelin starred however it certainly offers a fantastic view, and the passionate gourmands also have the option to head to either a 3 star or 1 star Michelin restaurant nearby for an extraordinary dining experience.

From Saint-Tropez you'll journey into the heart of Provence, following a route with jaw-dropping views over the Verdon Gorge, a deep natural canyon set like a jewel in one of France's most beautiful nature reserves. Your supercar driving holiday will next take you along tranquil roads lined with rows of beautiful lavender on each side, a dreamlike landscape that turns into a purple paradise when the lavender is in full bloom, heading towards the magnificent hotel Villa La Coste, set halfway between the Luberon natural park and Aix-en-Provence. This modern architectural masterpiece is home to a Michelin starred gastronomic restaurant run by the famous French chef Gérald Passedat, and on the large grounds of this luxurious estate you'll be able to relax and sample fine organic wines in the Château la Coste winery.

Conclude your supercar driving holiday with a scenic tour through unspoilt Provencal dreamscapes, following the shores of placid lakes and fast flowing rivers, back down towards the coast. You'll head to the hilltop village of Èze, perched like an eagle's nest on the cliffs between Monaco and Nice, with unrivalled panoramic views over the Mediterranean stretching from Italy in the east to Saint-Tropez in the west. The pearl of Èze is the five star Château de la Chèvre d'Or with its 2 Michelin starred gourmet restaurant, nestling precariously on the edge of the cliff in this authentic medieval village - a most relaxing atmosphere where you'll be able to indulge in luxury and enjoy quite likely the best view on the French Riviera.

With our Verdon & Saint-Tropez supercar driving holiday we aim to redefine the concept of a luxury road trip - a fabulous adventure in one of the world's greatest driving machines.

Day 1Day 2Day 3Day 4Day 5Extend the tour
Supercar driving holiday MonacoYour supercar driving holiday begins upon arrival at Nice airport, a small strip of land carved out of the beautiful azure sea. Our team will be happy to arrange a private transfer from Nice airport to Monaco by our Mercedes-Benz VIP shuttle or Rolls-Royce limousine, by boat, or the fastest way – by helicopter. Upon arrival in Monaco you’ll check in to the legendary Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo from 15:00.

On your day of leisure you’ll have time to explore the delights of Monaco. Relax in the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo spa, where you can unwind and revitalise in a 6600-m2 facility dedicated to wellness, fitness and preventive health, visit some of the exclusive shops and luxury boutiques in this glamorous principality, or stroll down to the beach for a cocktail in one of the many clubs on the shores of the glittering Mediterranean. You may want to head to the port to sample Monte Carlo’s very own locally sourced oysters, or explore the old town and enjoy an authentic lunch in one of our recommended eateries.

Tonight we highly recommend you book a table at the 3 Star Michelin Le Louis XV for an extraordinary gastronomic tasting voyage. Under the magnificent gold inlaid vaulted ceiling of the Salle Empire in the Hôtel de Paris – a listed site since the 19th century – this glamorous restaurant will welcome you for fine dining in the fabulous atmosphere of a Belle Epoque ballroom, where you’ll enjoy a mouthwatering tasting menu signed by France’s most revered celebrity chef, Alain Ducasse.

For those who wish to extend their enjoyment further into the night, there is, of course, the opulent Casino de Monte-Carlo which in its time has welcomed guests such as Winston Churchill, President Eisenhower and the Aga Khan. Monaco enjoys a world-famous reputation for its glamorous nightlife, with stylish nightclubs and ambient bars catering for a variety of different styles and tastes.

Hotel: 5* Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, Monaco – 41 m² deluxe room with city or patio view

After a sumptuous breakfast on the terrace, the dream machine you’ve selected for your supercar driving holiday will await you at the foot of the hotel steps on Monte Carlo’s Casino Square. A member of our team will do a short car and tour briefing with you, and you’ll be ready to fire up the engine and begin your adventure.

The first leg of today’s journey leads you out of Monaco in the footsteps of Fangio, Senna and Häkkinen on the legendary F1 Grand Prix circuit, up onto the corniche with stunning views out over Monaco and the Mediterranean. You’re heading for the spectacular Route Napoleon, a mountain pass through the Alpes-Maritimes, built by Napoléon’s Grande Armee in 1815 on his victorious return to Paris from exile in Elba. You’ll follow this scenic road for a thrilling stretch, where you can get to know the true soul of your supercar, with perfect tarmac gently winding through the rocky hills. From Route Napoleon you’ll drop down towards the Esterel National Park, a striking area of red rock mountains that plunge down into the deep blue seas of the Mediterranean. On this beautiful coastline sits the fabled seaside town of Saint-Tropez, a destination that drew in the world’s jet set in the 1950s and 60s – attracting stars such as Brigitte Bardot, Alain Delon, Mick Jagger and Jackie Onassis – and still today has the reputation of being the place where the well heeled elite gather in the summer season for the glamorous nightlife. Yachts worth hundreds of millions now outnumber the fishermen’s boats in this ancient fishing village, but you can still travel back in time, strolling down the cobblestone alleys in the old town, and enjoy a quiet glass of rose in one of the pretty cafés or traditional bars.

Your hotel for tonight is the elegant Althoff Hotel Villa Belrose, located just a 10 minute drive from the Port of Saint-Tropez. Here you’ll be able to enjoy a leisurely swim in the heated swimming pool, sip a cocktail on the terrace with a fantastic view over the Bay of Saint-Tropez. The hotel’s gourmet restaurant boasts a lovely view, and not far from the hotel you can also find Michelin starred restaurants such as the legendary 3 star Michelin La Vague d’Or – or if you prefer to have a more down to earth meal tonight we’ll be able to recommend a charming restaurant in the Vieux Port with fresh seafood plateaus and classic local specialities.

Hotel: 5* Althoff Hotel Villa Belrose, Gassin – 30 m² prestige double room with sea view and terrace
Driving time: 3½-4 hours without stops

Wake up to a dreamy view, and spend a relaxing morning enjoying breakfast on the terrace with splendid views out to the sea or soaking up the sun by the side of the pool.

Today your supercar driving holiday takes you up into the Verdon Natural Regional Park, a haven of peace surrounded by high mountains and turquoise blue lakes, and home to ‘Europe’s Grand Canyon’, the Verdon Gorge. Today’s lunch could be an innovative Michelin starred gourmet menu, or a more traditional meal made from freshly sourced local Provencal ingredients, both set deep in the green rolling hills. Your journey takes you through a heavenly sea of lavender fields, an explosion of truly exceptional colour during blooming season – late June to early August – providing the perfect backdrop for photographs. Outside blooming season the orderly rows of neatly trimmed lavender plants stretch towards the snow-capped mountains beyond, and the quieter roads become the ideal place for supercar driving, as you pass the remote cottages and picturesque farmhouses dotted throughout this magical landscape.

From Verdon you’ll drive to Villa La Coste, a unique boutique hotel set deep in the Provencal countryside, with panoramic views over the Luberon and the wine domain Château La Coste. With only 28 villa suites – some with their own private pool – this hotel is a calm luxury retreat surrounded by magnificent fields of vines. Famed for its art collection and popular with cultured Hollywood A-listers and rock star legends such as U2’s frontman Bono, Villa La Coste has a splendid gastronomic restaurant, and we highly recommend a visit to the vineyard for a wine tasting experience.

The hotel’s fabulous restaurant Louison is the creation of world-renowned French chef Gérald Passedat, most famous for his 3 Star Michelin restaurant Le Petit Nice in Marseille. The organic kitchen garden of the domain produces most of the vegetables used in the preparation of the dishes, and inside a tall, glass-walled building suspended over water you’ll embark on a remarkable culinary journey – it’s time to taste the true flavours of Provence.

Hotel: 5* Villa La Coste, Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade – 90 m² pavillon suite
Driving time: 3½ hours plus stops

This final day on your luxurious supercar driving holiday begins immersed in the still, wild Provencal hinterland.

Today’s drive is one of the most rewarding, and your last opportunity to let loose behind the wheel of your dream machine on this magnificent adventure. You’ll tour back across Verdon on a dramatic route high above the canyon, with many perfect photo opportunities dotted along this scenic road carved from the rocky cliffs, the views stretching into the distance from what feels like the top of the world. Your route continues up into the Alps, following the shores of turquoise lakes and spring fed alpine rivers, a fast drive that allows you to compose a marvellous soundtrack, the sound of your supercar echoing between the mountain walls. Today we recommend you stop for a tasty traditional snack lunch en route, and save your appetite for the magnificent Michelin starred dinner with a view that awaits you at your final destination.

High above the sandy beaches of the French Riviera, below the snow-capped mountain peaks of the French Alps, sits an ancient hilltop village – Èze – with panoramic views over the Mediterranean. Here you’ll check in one of our favourite hotels, Château de la Chevre d’Or, with individual rooms found dotted around the cobble streets, the ancient wooden doors leading to beautiful rooms that were once home to the medieval residents of this hilltop village. From the terrace and the heated outdoor pool you can enjoy sweeping views over the French Riviera’s elegant ‘Golden Triangle’ – Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Villefranche-sur-Mer. Gazing out from the hotel’s 2 Star Michelin restaurant La Chèvre d’Or diners are treated to a truly breathtaking panoramic view along the Riviera coastline and out to sea, with deep blue water stretching to the far horizon – an absolutely magical spot for your final gourmet meal on this supercar driving holiday.

Hotel: 5* Château de la Chevre d’Or, Èze – 40 m² deluxe room with full sea view and jacuzzi bath
Driving time: 4½ hours plus stops

Enjoy a lovely late morning at Château de la Chèvre d’Or before your check-out is at 11:00.

We recommend you visit the Jardin Exotique d’Eze before your departure. This mountaintop exotic garden overlooks Èze and the sea, and is located on the site of a medieval fortress 492 metres above sea level. Enjoy a panoramic view extending all the way to the Esterel Mountains and the Golf of Saint Tropez.
