The GTS is the top of the range convertible from Porsche's 992 Carrera range, with only the 992 Turbos boasting more power and performance.

Available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive this lovely machine has a 3.0L twin-turbo flat-six engine under the bonnet, which produces 473 hp at 6,500 rpm and 570 Nm of torque at 2,500-5,000 rpm. Whilst some might think the GTS is merely about a badge and more boxes ticked on the options list the truth is that there are some subtle changes to a standard Porsche 992 Carrera S Cabriolet. Most notably does the GTS come with a sport exhaust tuned specially for this model - and to highlight this Porsche has stripped out some of the sound insulation, resulting in a more exciting soundtrack during spirited driving.

The sport design pack comes standard with the car, adding black touches and badges to the design - and of course the GTS is also equipped with performance upgrades such as a PASM sport suspension (lowering the car by 10mm compared to a Carrera S) and larger brakes that are also used in the 911 Turbo (with a carbon ceramic option). The suspension is stiffer, and the ride is lower, however ultimately it is still a Porsche 911 and makes a fabulous daily driver and a comfortable companion for long road trip adventures. The chassis is a modified version of the one used in one of the Porsche's flagship models, the 911 Turbo. Additionally the 8-speed PDK gearbox has been further developed to have more harmonious gear ratios.

The final result is a brilliant sports car with plenty of power for those twisty mountain roads, fast enough to keep up with a selection
of supercars in a straight line, and arguably often a more nimble and easy to drive car once you get to those technical hairpin bends on narrow mountain roads.
