Rent a Ferrari 458 Speciale A (Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta) in Europe with Colcorsa, and experience one of the greatest supercars to leave the Maranello factory on an exciting luxury driving holiday on Europe's greatest roads. The Ferrari 458 Speciale A was limited to only 499 cars worldwide, and this is a rare opportunity to experience this brilliant machine that is also the last naturally aspirated V8 convertible Ferrari ever built. Many collectors dream of having this car in their cherished collection - and if you can't own one, then at least you can drive one!
Powered by a 4.5L naturally aspirated V8 the 458 Speciale truly was last of its kind when it comes to Ferraris, and whilst the Ferrari 458 Speciale coupe was more accessible - people are speculating that there might be between 2000 and 3000 coupes worldwide - the convertible was created as a limited edition car, with a higher price tag. The power figures are shared with the coupe - 597 horsepower and a 540 Nm maximum torque - with a redline at 9,000 rpm. In a drag race the outcome should be identical - both the coupe and the convertible is meant to accelerate 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds - however when it comes to top speed on paper the Aperta will get up to an impressive 320 km/h, whilst the speedometer on the coupe would continue to rise to about 325 km/h.
The Ferrari 458 Speciale A was built with performance and weight saving in mind. It has a carbon fibre underbody, new and lighter ceramic brakes, forged wheels and a minimalistic interior. Compared to the Ferrari 458 Italia the car is a completely different machine with its magnetic dampers, stiffer springs and anti-roll bars - and of course the magnificent sound which in the 458 Italia might stop at 10, but in the Speciale it certainly goes up to 11. The electric folding hard top has only added about 50kg to the weight compared to the coupe.
Despite its pedigree it's still a very usable car in every way. The Speciale was the first Ferrari equipped with a Side Slip angle Control (SSC) system, which is an electronic vehicle dynamics control system that works with the E-Diff electronic differential and F1-Trac traction control to perfectly balance agility and stability - basically helping the driver control the car without taking away any of the fun. On a more practical level you do get 230L of boot space, which will allow you to bring a decent amount of luggage for your Colcorsa driving adventure (and of course anything that doesn't fit in the car can travel in a separate luggage car between the hotels).
You can enjoy this remarkable machine on one of our self-drive luxury driving tours in Europe, giving you 3-5 wonderful days to spend behind the wheel of this supercar on scenic driving roads, relaxing in five star hotels between the drives. Or perhaps rent it at your own leisure in the location of your choice, and make your own travel arrangements.
Get ready for the drive of a lifetime - the open road awaits...
