But instead of continuing using naturally aspirated engines the Ferrari 488 GTB is powered by a 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8. It is smaller in displacement, but higher in output. The power has increased with 100 hp compared to the 458, as the 488 GTB has a power output of 661 hp at 8000 rpm. Also maximum torque has significantly increased, with 760 Nm offered at 3000 rpm.
The 7-speed F1 gearbox, an automated manual dual-clutch by GETRAG, is based on the gearbox of the Ferrari 458. The carbon-ceramic brakes are derived from technology used in the LaFerrari.
