Our Bucharest & Transylvania driving tour is a supercar adventure through the exotic country of Romania in the Balkans. With Colcorsa you have the unique opportunity to experience your dream supercar on two breathtaking driving roads – Transalpina and Transfagarasan – and explore the beauty of the Carpathian mountains. Between the drives you’ll be resting in beautiful luxury hotels of high standards, and enjoy meals in gastronomic restaurants.
Your supercar driving tour both begins and ends in the capital of Romania, Bucharest, that in the early 20th century came to be known as the ‘Paris of the east’ because of its stunning Art Nouveau architecture. Admire the city’s beautiful buildings, enjoy a stroll in the charming old town, and sample mouthwatering cuisine in excellent gourmet restaurants. During the next days on your road trip you’ll journey deep into the mountains to conquer serpentine passes rising up to more than 2,000m above sea level, pause in medieval villages in the Transylvania region – such as the historic Sibiu – and should you choose to extend your tour to five days of driving you will also pass by the world-famous Dracula’s castle.
We’ve chosen some of the country’s most luxurious hotels to enrich your supercar tour in Romania. In Bucharest you’ll be staying in the world-class 5* Epoque Hotel and the elegant 5* Suter Palace, both within walking distance to the city’s top attractions and with upscale restaurants, and one of them also home to a luxurious spa. The three other hotels on your driving adventure are the 5* Hilton Hotel Sibiu, a short cab ride from the wonderful old town, the 4* Grand Hotel Sofianu with its own art museum, and the 4* Simfonia Boutique Hotel with a rooftop terrace overlooking the city. Should you choose to extend your road trip to 6 nights you’ll be spending one night in a pretty guesthouse Casa din Bran in the town of Bran, a 5 minute walk from the Bran Castle, with an excellent restaurant serving traditional Romanian cuisine, or if you prefer in a hotel in the city of Brasov.
Whatever inspired you to dream of a Romania road trip – perhaps it was the famous Top Gear episode where Jeremy Clarkson declared that Transfagarasan is the world’s greatest driving road, or perhaps you’ve seen photos of the spectacular Transalpina and can’t wait to experience it yourself – we’ll make sure that your dream comes true, and you’ll get to enjoy the road trip of a lifetime!
