Our Lucerne & Lake Como tour is a luxury driving holiday through two of Europe´s most beautiful countries - Switzerland and Italy - giving you two perfect days behind the wheel of some of the most thrilling supercars in the world, exploring the greatest driving roads in driving paradise - the Swiss Alps. Your journey begins on the shores of the enchanting Lake Lucerne in central Switzerland, from where you´ll travel through majestic alpine landscapes towards Italy, crossing the Alps before following the shore of the enchanting Lake Como before stopping for a glamorous night in an exclusive hotel on the waterfront. The next day you´ll climb back up into the Alps to conquer three more dramatic mountain passes, before returning through the beautiful Swiss countryside to the calm waters of Lake Lucerne.

Follow in the footsteps of a bygone era of Hollywood greats - legends such as Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn and Sean Connery - and experience firsthand the world-famous Swiss hospitality at the legendary Bürgenstock Resort, with its unique views of Lake Lucerne from a breathtaking plateau dominating the landscape. This historic hotel was originally opened in 1873, and has recently reopened having undergone a stunning ten year complete modernisation with impressive taste and an excellent eye for detail sure to appeal to the most discerning traveller. Relax and unwind in the world-class spa and enjoy international cuisine in one of the hotel's gourmet restaurants. The following morning your journey continues into Italy ending the day at the beautiful Grand Hotel Tremezzo, an art noveau building on the shoreline of Lake Como, with views across the shimmering waters to the 'pearl of the lake' - Bellagio - and the mountains beyond. On the day of your arrival you will transfer from the airport to the stunning shores of Lake Lucerne, conveniently located an hour’s drive from Zürich city. Your boat captain will await you at the waterside, where you will board the fabulous Bürgenstock shuttle – the perfect way to experience the elegance of this famous lake. As you cross the calm waters beneath the majestic hills that surround the lake, with its idyllic waterfront villages nestling on the shoreline, the high Pilatus mountain peak rises unmistakebly in the distance. As you approach the far shore your eyes will be drawn to the red funicular railway that will carry you up the steep hillside directly into the lobby of one of Europe´s most incredible hotel experiences – the Bürgenstock Resort, perched high on the mountain like a palace, with truly stunning views over the lake.

The resort consists of four different hotels, and all the rooms at your hotel boast incredible lake views and a cosy fireplace. Tonight you’ll be able to revitalise in the world-class 10,000 m² spa, with its breathtaking outdoor heated infinity pool offering superb panoramic vistas over the lake, before dining in one of the hotel’s many gourmet restaurants.

On the first morning of your luxury driving holiday, after a sumptuous breakfast with views across the lake, your chosen supercar will await you in front of the hotel, primed and ready for an exciting driving adventure. On your first day behind the wheel of your supercar you´ll explore some of the world´s greatest driving roads, experiencing the thrill of a high performance machine in perfect driving territory. You´ll be tracing the tyre tracks of James Bond on the tight hairpin bends of the historic Furka Pass, leading you up to the beautiful Rhone Glacier Ice Grotto, where you can visit an ice chamber that glows magically in fine shades of blue. Experience the historic Tremola Pass – an ancient cobblestone pass known as the longest road monument in Switzerland.

After crossing the border into Italy you´ll head towards Lake Como and your home for the night – the exclusive Grand Hotel Tremezzo, a belle epoque grand palace on the shores of the world-famous lake, with incredible views across the shimmering water to the mountains beyond. The Grand Hotel Tremezzo is considered to be one of the most luxurious hotels in Europe, and here you can enjoy a beautiful spa, fine dining with a lake view, and perhaps a relaxing boat trip on the lake.

After a relaxing rest on the shores of Lake Como – a stay that can be extended to two nights by request – it’s time to continue your driving adventure with a scenic road trip back to Lake Lucerne. On the second day of your Lucerne & Lake Como luxury driving holiday you’ll conquer three more fabulous mountain passes, travelling through the unspoilt Swiss countryside with clear lakes and smooth tarmac perfect for supercars. You’ll pause briefly in the idyllic village of Andermatt, where you can enjoy a stroll on cobblestone streets lined with traditional alpine chalets with their window boxes bursting with flowers.

Tonight you’ll return to the Bürgenstock hotel, where you can relax in discreet luxury – the perfect end to the perfect driving adventure. If you’d like to experience one of the other hotels at the resort we recommend the Bürgenstock Waldhotel, a five star wellness hotel with mountain view rooms, that offers a variety of different treatments in the state of the art spa – from a 10°C ice room to a detox-infra-red-lounger – and also home to a restaurant serving healthy light Mediterranean cuisine.

For the traveller wishing to extend their holiday there are a range of different activities in the area. For those that enjoy the outdoors we recommend an outing on the unspoilt local hiking trails with breathtaking lake and mountain views, or for the lover of architecture and culture there is much to discover in the old town of Lucerne with its medieval Chapel Bridge and majestic lakeside buildings, all within easy reach from the hotel. Close to your hotel is the Mount Pilatus, a mountain massif overlooking Lucerne composed of several peaks of which the highest is 2,128 m. Mount Pilatus can be reached with the steepest cogwheel railway in the world – a 30 minute journey through alpine landscapes tunnels carved out of the rocks – or a cable car journey in a panoramic gondola.

We also recommend a trip to the Hammetschwand Lift at 1,132 metres – the highest outdoor lift in Europe – located within walking distance of your hotel…

If you’re tempted to extend your luxury driving holiday, we can recommend an additional night by Lake Como, where you can enjoy an extra day discovering the beautiful roads and villages around the lake, perhaps crossing the high mountains all the way to St. Moritz, with a Michelin starred lunch en route.

Or for those who’d prefer a day at leisure with the car tucked away safely in the hotel’s garage, we can also recommend lake excursions in a classic Riva or period Venetian boat exploring the pretty shoreline in style.
